Leith travel to Kinross on Friday night for a friendly fixture under the lights. The two clubs have forged a bond over the past couple of seasons, instigated by former Leith player and coach Tam Bennett , who brought his then Kinross side to Academy Park for a pre season fixture in July 2015, before participating in the Leith 7s in 2016, getting to the Shield final, where they went down to the Leith President's 7. Leith and Kinross also have a number of dual registered players, who have helped one another our over the past couple of seasons when possible, and who've always been well received in both directions. The night before Super Saturday (nobody wants to kick off at 10am on Saturday morning...) provides the perfect opportunity for the two clubs to set aside league concerns for the week, and get together for a friendly match, followed by a few beers at Kinross. It really is what rugby is all about - and all at Leith look forward to the trip, and to hosting Kinross at the Leith 7s again next month.
Details of the Leith squad hitting the M90 will follow later in the week, but we hope to include many who have worn Kinross purple, as well as those requiring additional game time to push for places in upcoming games.
Check out the tries from the last time Leith met Kinross, last season.
