Following the securing of a top 6 place, Leith will begin their post-split East 2A fixtures with a home game against league-leading Broughton. The Wardie side come to Academy Park unbeaten in the league this season, having improved considerably since last term, and a tough game is assured. While Leith have not fired as they might this season, the relief at achieving the top half spot last weekend has quickly been put to one side, as the squad aim to improve on their results against the league's top placed sides over the next 5 games. Broughton come into the game off a 32-10 win over Ferry Road neighbours, Trinity and as they chase the title, will be looking to keep their winning run going. Your support at Academy Park will go a long way to helping the Leithers, as they look to get their top 6 campaign off to a winning start.
Leith squad has been named, see below, and sees Fraser Forsyth return to the starting lineup in the back row, with Javier Hervas moving to the replacements, where he's joined by the returning Neil Paterson, Colin Marshall and Andy MacIntosh. In the backs there's a change in the halfbacks as George Forrest and the returning Doug Watters come in for Andrew Paterson and Ben Wilkinson, and captain Kenny Dannfald moves from 15 to 13, with Steven Eadie coming onto the wing. Enjoy the game.
2ND XV
Meanwhile on Sunday, the 2nd XV will welcome Edinburgh Clan for a friendly fixture. The Clan are a Unified rugby club, and Unified Rugby enables players, who are challenged either physically or mentally, to play in the same team as able-bodied players. Get down to Academy Park to support the 2pm KO.
